Say hello and goodbye to a friend
Study the first page of this lesson. Don't try to memorize everything.
Just read the dialogs aloud and slowly.
To say hello to a young person, use 'hallo' (hello) or 'hi'.

To introduce yourself and ask for another person's name, use
'Ich heisse ...' (My name is ...) and 'Wie heisst du?' (What's your name?).
| Hallo. Ich heisse Stefan. Und wie heisst du? | Hello. My name is Stefan. And what's your name? | | Ich heisse Lisa. | My name is Lisa. |
Try to read aloud the two dialogues above. When you are done, read the two dialogues below and then
repeat them aloud. While doing this, please don't worry about your pronunciation.
You will later learn in this lesson how to pronounce the different words in German.
Here are some examples for asking your friends, how they are and how things are going.

To say goodbye to someone, use the following expressions:
